Our Mission

Our mission is to support pregnant women who are faced with a high risk pregnancy and an antepartum stay in the hospital. We strive to support these women and their families by showering them with love and hope through care packages, emotional support, and ongoing resources, even after baby is born.

When a mother hears that her pregnancy is not progressing as expected, the news can be overwhelming and devastating. The hopes and dreams of a normal pregnancy soon are replaced with fear, helplessness, and a huge financial burden. Older children are faced with an unknown amount of time away from their mom. Partners are faced with supporting their significant other, while navigating the full time responsibility of managing a household and often times a full time job.

The Rainbow Project was created to fill the void in support for these mothers and their families. When met with love and support, hope is restored.

Children

The older children of antepartum women are often forgotten about when it comes to managing the care of a high risk pregnancy. There is tremendous stress and anxiety that comes along with a parent being absent from the home for weeks if not months at a time. Often times this absence is sudden and not planned, causing further anxiety for the child(ren) and guilt for the mother. The Rainbow Project recognizes these children and aims to provide every child with a care package with comfort items and interactive books and activities when visiting mom.

Thank You Nurses

The Rainbow Project whole heartedly values and embraces the amazing nurses and other medical professionals who care for antepartum women and their families. These are some of the most kind, loving, funny, and badass women you will ever meet. We will regularly thank Northern Colorado women’s care unit staff with treats and tokens of love and appreciation.
